I wonder if the person who posted the Terrible Story comment actually read the book through instead of skipping around. Yes, many of the names are derived from various shows. However, when you have to name about a couple hundred races, sooner or later you use ones you've heard. As for the hobbits and Borg, if you actually read the book, you'd would realize those were nicknames for the races they were referring to. This series uses a lot of names and ideas derived from Battletech, Farscape, Babylon 5, and dozens of shows, but the derivations are credited to those shows. Also, this is not a stand alone novel. It is part of an ongoing serial.... S-E-R-I-A-L... If you know what that word means, you would know that the story builds on the previous episodes.

Star Force Axius SF47 eBook Aerki Jyr Reviews

Excellent edition of the Star Force series. More of the ADF infrastructure and communal societies with all the problems and solutions thoughtfully written. The author could do a good job as president or ambassador. We get to meet a new and powerful race from far, far away and the dvapp get to kick some butt. One of the better ones in the series. Enjoy, Trapper
Reasonably well written, but there is really no interesting or original story, just rambles on without any real point. Names of aliens are derivative, e.g. Skarron from Farscape, Hobbits from Lord of the Rings and Borg from Startrek, with no attribution that I could see. Very bad. Also very short for its price. Should be no more than $.99.
Keep up the good work.

I have an alarm on my phone set up for the expected date of the next book.
This may be the best book yet. It completely satisfied my craving for my star force fix while stoking my hunger for the next book.
Great can't wait for the next one. I love the series waiting for the next installment. You have to read them in order for it to make sense.
Not sure where the "Terrible" reviewer was coming from. This is book #47 of a series, it doesn't appear that they read any of 1-46. The core characters of this series were born present day/ very near future and if I were kicking around for 500 years I'd be using present day terms for naming things. (unlike the "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" going on in Wandering Engineer <groan>) That's not to say there aren't a couple of things that really put my suspension of belief to the test (a future without rooster sauce?!?) but the writing in this series has been surprisingly consistent in its quality and world building. That the author is producing approx. 30,000 word novellas every 2 weeks that for me have never dropped below 4 stars is a testament to his skill as an author. I've paid much more for much less story. I for one can't wait to see where he goes with the rest of the series. Thanks for all your hard work!
It's either 4 or 5 stars for every book Jyr writes in this series, this was a 5. Great episode and can't wait for the next.
